During week 4 of our series "Nehemiah: The Burden to Build"... Opposition does not always mean you are moving in the wrong direction. Nehemiah 4 shows us how to face resistance with prayer and faithful work, trusting that God may use our obedience not only to rebuild what is broken, but to bring healing to people and places.

We all have been part of shared projects that have been difficult, with uneven workloads, and less than desirable outcomes. Yet, shared projects can be tremendously fruitful and joyful when a shared vision meets a shared burden. The church is a shared project. Owned by no leader, staff or congregant. Yet, we all have a part to play, a role to fulfill, and a responsibility to one another. And when we all step in and participate, God's power is on display. Come join us as we consider how ordinary faithfulness, combined with shared vision, leads to advancing God's work in our hearts and within our world.  

During week 2 of our series "Nehemiah: The Burden to Build"... After months of prayer, Nehemiah asks the king for permission and resources to rebuild Jerusalem. He travels to the city, inspects the walls, develops a plan, and finally invites the people to join him: “Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem.”

During week 1 of our series "Nehemiah: The Burden to Build"...God often begins a calling by giving us a burden, then reveals that he has already been preparing us to respond. Nehemiah teaches us to pay attention both to what God has caused us to care about and to what he has already placed in our hands.

During week 7 of our series "Jesus in the City", the topic of judgment is an uncomfortable one. Grace and love are much more inviting. The gospel leads with grace. Grace is a cornerstone of both Jesus' ministry and our faith. Yet the gospel also finishes with judgment. Scripture makes clear that Jesus is a just judge of humanity. So when Jesus pronounces judgment we do well to listen up. Come join us to learn how judgment, while often uncomfortable, is the very thing that helps us understand grace and provides a clear view of Jesus' love for us.  

During week 6 of our series "Jesus in the City", Jesus does not promise a life without storms, but he reveals that whatever overwhelms us is still under his authority, and he meets us there.

During week 5 of our series "Jesus in the City". Jesus' call to Levi the tax collector is an unexpected move. It is difficult for both the disciples and religious leaders to understand. Through this interaction Jesus both reveals his acceptance of the wicked and the redemptive power of his ministry. As a result, Levi is transformed into Matthew. This redemptive power of Jesus has come for you, me and those that annoy us the most. Listen in and be encouraged that Jesus is "for you". And yet be challenged that Jesus is calling you to those you find annoying.

During week 4 of our series "Jesus in the City", we look at Luke 7:1–10. Here it brings together people who should have remained divided and shows how Jesus crosses the boundaries we create. Through the faith of a Roman centurion, we see that no one deserves grace, no one is beyond its reach, and true faith means recognizing the authority of Jesus and placing our lives under it.

During week 3 of our series "Jesus in the City", Jesus invites us to live an undivided life, bringing his love, presence, and power into both our public and private worlds.

During week 2 of our series "Jesus in the City" we take a look at the call of the first disciples. Why does Jesus, who is extraordinary, call such average, ordinary people and send them out into his mission? And as ordinary people, why is it so important that we "follow" Jesus. And at what cost? Come join us as we look into the life and ministry of Jesus.
