Alfonso and Erik are joined by their good friend Alex Cid to talk about the Old Fashioned. A classic cocktail that has many different variations. We got together to try six different Old Fashioned Recipes. All 6 had the same specs. The difference was the type of sugar, we uses simple syrup, demerara syrup and a sugar cube. For each we used a Rye and Bourbon to compare. There was definitely a difference and a winner.
Specs:
2oz Bourbon or Rye
1/2oz sugar type (simple syrup, demerara syrup, sugar cube)
2 dashes angostura bitters
2 dashes prange bitters
stir over ice, strain into big rock, garnish orange peel.
