Codagenix, Inc., a Farmngdale, N.Y.-based clinical-stage biotechnology company developing prophylactic vaccines and oncolytic virus therapies, closed a $20m Series B funding round.
Its recoded vaccine candidates match to the target virus and induce an immune response to all viral antigens.
For cancer, the company’s nimble platform allows them to turn a virus into a potential oncolytic immuno-oncology therapies.
Codagenix spun out of the laboratory of National Academy of Science Member Eckard Wimmer at Stony Brook University in 2012.
