Talk about an odyssey! Danny and Kevin saw Christopher Nolan's latest epic in July, recorded a conversation about it in August, and spent September editing it. Now we know how all those poor sailors felt traveling with Homeric Greece's wiliest, unluckiest king. The Odyssey is both a classic example of both the bygone and the modern blockbuster. Perhaps it's not as good as all the other dreadful movies in its' budget range but, come on...it's really good.

Steven Spielberg directed a new alien movie this summer, and Danny and Kevin finally talked about it. Kevin mentioned that Michael Kahn (95) didn't edit Disclosure Day. Coincidentally, little did Kevin realize he would edit this episode at the pace you would expect from a 95 year-old.

As always with Spielberg, there is much to discuss. Does he still have the summer blockbuster juice in him, or is this movie a sort of blend of his memorable awe-inspiring adventures from earlier in his career with the historical dramas he has become more known for in his later years? The duo break down this new effort from Spielberg and his screenwriting "closer" David Koepp.

In honor of America's 250th Birthday/Funeral, Danny and Kevin discussed one of their favorite texts, the 2008 miniseries John Adams. Featuring a cavalcade of guys and gals playing both famous and infamous figures from the first fifty years of America's history, the series is an entertaining exploration of a misunderstood era. We discuss the look and feel of the series, the performances, the ideology, and why it's worth thinking about these toothless nerds given that we're still living with their sweaty fumbling compromises at making things better.

Danny and Kevin continue their conversation on the new Star Wars products by discussing the movie that came and went, The Mandalorian and Grogu, also known as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. This strangely timed phone-in job from Jon Favreau and crew vexes Danny and Kevin as they wonder what is going in those offices at Lucasfilm or Disney or whatever. No spoiler alert warning was given because there is literally nothing to spoil in this boring but kind of fun at times action adventure movie.

Danny and Kevin briefly discussed Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord during their May the Fourth episode, but now give a full review after seeing the whole season. Danny feared Kevin would make him watch it so got ahead of it. The two talk about things that worked and didn't work in the show. You know, like most Star War things now. 'Member when Star Wars was special? Or when Darth Maul clearly died in The Phantom Menace?

Danny and Kevin finally resume and conclude their catch-up talk on some 2025 projects they wanted to discuss, this time on a few movies and streaming projects. Kevin first fills Danny in about a little show called Stranger Things and how everybody watches it but hates it. Both were able to watch the latest Benoit Blanc joint and weigh in on how it compares to the first two entries in the series. Danny then went on a bit of a fascist kick by watching both Nuremberg and Mussolini: Son of the Century.

May the Fourth be with us, we are back on our bullshit. There is Star Wars to be seen, Star Wars to be anticipated, Star Wars to be criticized, Star Wars to be excited for. Folks, there's a Star Wars for every lifestyle. Danny and Kevin briefly discuss the new Darth Maul program before moving on to the soon-to-be-released Mandalorian movie and then finally take stock of the Star Wars galaxy as a whole.

Danny and Kevin close the book on 2025 with some late, like after-the-ceremony late, talk of Oscar contenders not previously discussed. Lumberjacks, revolutionaries, fascists, handsome men in fast cars, and aliens (?) round out a year of vampires and Frankensteins. Danny drops the C-bomb and Kevin's lil' puppy farts up a storm. We remain the classiest and, in fact, ONLY podcast about movies.

Danny and Kevin return to the Seven (or is it Nine?) Kingdoms for a light-hearted adventure with a guy that's really tall and a kid that's really small. Light-hearted, at least, by GRRM's world-weary and cynical standards. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which this podcast will hereafter refer to as "Dunk and Egg", is a wonderful departure from both the original show's grim and murky tone and Hot D's attempt to just do that again but more boring-er. And there is a massive hog in it.

Like James Cameron resurfacing after an aquatic adventure, Danny and Kevin return from a brief hiatus to review the new Avatar picture, Fire and Ash. Or should it be called Fire and Blood, because it features Talisa Stark and reminds our podcasters of a long-running television series more than the third installment of a movie saga. Listen as Danny and Kevin discuss the new film, how it compares to the first two, and how many more of these Avatar pictures Cameron or others should make.
