Meet Colonel DPK Pillay. In 1994 as a young platoon commander he hunted down a group of hardcore insurgents in Manipur. With a bullet in his chest, three in the forearm, a grenade-exploded foot & a spinal fracture; he insisted the two wounded children that were caught in the cross firing, be airlifted before him.

In conversation with RJ Swati, Colonel DPK Pillay recalls the three-hour gunfight where he showcased gallantry beyond the call of duty & lived a lifetime in a moment. He was bestowed Shaurya Chakra for his bravery.
