How can pain and strong emotions become the positive impetus for change? How can we stop pushing down and pushing through and instead listen to the wisdom of our bodies and our heart’s emotions? How can we build a support network when we do not exist in a close-knit community of family and friends?
Welcome to the Collaborative Connections by OrthoPelvic PT! I’m your host for this week, Molli Atallah. This week’s episode will be the continuation of the first part of our interview with Sarah Vogel, Birth Doula, Postpartum Care Specialist, founder and owner of Sacred Matrescence
Sarah is a mother of three and lives with her husband & kids in Colorado! She has a deep passion for nurturing mothers throughout their journey of matrescence, or their transition to and through motherhood. As a doula and postpartum care provider, she supports the women in her community in a handful of ways. Her approach is mother centered and she places high value on the well-being of mothers, knowing that with their proper care comes a thriving postpartum experience and thus a more joyous, healthy transition into motherhood. Sarah has a thriving business of preparing and delivering nourishing meals to newborn mothers in their fourth trimester. Each meal is intentionally prepared with local, biodynamic ingredients and thoughtfully crafted to support the nourishment needs of each individual mother. When not cooking or attending births, Sarah is out in the mountains with her husband & babies soaking in the beauty that Colorado has to offer!*
*As a note, the baby we speak about in this episode was lost in its first trimester and Sarah is now pregnant with her rainbow baby, due in March 2023.

What is redemptive birth and postpartum? How can 2nd, 3rd, 4th time moms claim this for themselves? How can we give ourselves the care, and knowledge, and empowered decision-making skills in successive pregnancies that we may have lacked in previous pregnancies?

What happens when you are truly heard and held by a healthcare provider? How can the right provider help you connect to your body and work with it as opposed to feeling victimized by it? How can physical therapy be a vehicle to healing with the patients as the ones in the driver’s seat?
Welcome to the Collaborative Connections by OrthoPelvic PT! I’m your host for this week, Molli Atallah. In this week's episode, we will be joined by one of OrthoPelvic’s wonderful PTs, Dr. Lauren Navarrete.
Lauren is a Philly girl who transplanted to Northern Virginia and is loving it!
Lauren knew she wanted to go into pelvic health before she even entered PT school. She worked as an aid for a pelvic health PT and she loved how women left their appointments feeling so much happier, confident, and more at ease than they entered.
She saw pelvic health PT transform their relationships with themselves, their spouses, their bodies, and she knew she wanted to be a part of that change.
She is passionate about empowering men and women to understand their own bodies and to destigmatize pelvic health issues. Dr. Lauren knows that through transparency and evidence-based care, patients can become empowered and confident in their own wonderful bodies.

Pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding…we often hear that there’s nothing more natural, but how often does it actually feel that way? These are monumental periods in a woman’s life, and as such they deserve dedicated time, attention, and nonjudgmental counseling.
Welcome to the Collaborative Connections by OrthoPelvic PT! I’m your host for this week, Molli Atallah. In this week's episode, we will be joined by Dana Seltzer, clinical social worker and therapist. Owner and founder of Bluebell Therapy Center.
Dana is a clinical social worker in private practice provider mental health services to adult women and non-binary or non-gender confirming people. She primarily specializes in women in the perinatal period, dealing with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, processing abortion or pregnancy loss, or adjusting to the stress of motherhood. She is training in multiple modalities, including psychodynamic therapy and EMDR. When Dana isn't at work, she is probably knitting, running, watching reality tv, or hiking with her two daughters.
