When Hurricane Maria hit in 2018, it caused vast devastation and destruction that the island is still recovering from today. The Trump Administration was ridiculed by many for its lack of relief and aid given. Unfortunately, this is only a recent example of the U.S. involvement — or lack there of — in Puerto Rico. We talk about the history of Puerto Rico and the United States and how it plays into the current politics and economy, including the upcoming referendum vote for statehood.

We learned SO much of this information in the book “The War Against All Puerto Rican’s” by Nelson Denis, which details Puerto Rico’s history and the truth behind its revolution that is largely unknown, even to many Puerto Rican’s today. This information was learned as a result of recently declassified FBI files that the writer complied into this book.
