"A Girl Like Me" - a documentary showing the impact of colorism on young black girls displayed the "Doll Test"- an experiment designed and conducted by Kenneth and Mamie Clark- studied the effects of segregation during the 1940's. These historical events ignited a fuse in Flora Epke Idang and her vision for Courage Dolls.
