Unshaken: Chapter a Day

Colossians 3 Discussion

Your day is already being discipled by something. The question is whether it is discipled by “things above” or by whatever is loudest on earth. We open Colossians 3 and trace how Paul connects attention, identity, and action, because what we set our minds on quietly determines how we speak, how we react, and how we treat the people closest to us.

We talk through the sharp command to “put to death what is earthly in you,” leaning on the old John Owen line: be killing sin or it will be killing you. That leads into practical Christian growth: confession, repentance, and accountability that actually moves us toward holiness. We also camp on the everyday power of words, why obscene and dishonorable talk corrupts an environment, and why mature believers should take speech seriously.

Then Colossians 3 gets painfully practical: marriage, parenting, and work. We wrestle with what it means to hold equal dignity in Christ while still living out different responsibilities in the home and workplace. We highlight God’s character as generous, forgiving, and just, and we end with a vision for working heartily “as for the Lord,” whether you are leading a team or making copies. If you want a clear, grounded guide to Christian living, spiritual discipline, and Christ-centered relationships, listen now, then subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a review.
