Jesus + _________ = Everything. What goes in the blank for you? Is it money? Is it your ability to live a good life? As we continue our journey through the book of Colossians, we come to a portion of Paul's letter that is full of warnings against false teachers within the church. Many of these false teachings were content with teaching Jesus but were not content with Jesus being the ONLY thing necessary in the good news of the gospel. Many of us live our lives in this way. We fill in the blank as though adding to Christ is helpful in our faith, but Paul shows us that it when we add to Jesus we actually take away from him.  An equation we often revisit at West Side is this: Jesus + Nothing = Everything.
