There are hopes columbariums will be installed across Sligo cemeteries in the near future.

Columbariums provide a space for urns containing cremated remains to reside, along with a memorial plaque.

Many cemeteries are operating at capacity and with vacant plots coming at a premium, further alternatives are being sought for the deceased.
