More about ORSF
Operation RSF, founded by 3 teammates in January of 2019 with the original goal of finding a way to help their brothers transitioning out of the military but it grew to really try and help anyone dealing with mental health issues, specifically post-traumatic stress. We saw the benefits of physical activity on mental health and wanted to get the word out to help people. We also saw the struggle of people dealing with PTSD, depression, and anxiety to get the motivation to get active so we built Operation RSF around that idea of helping people get from the couch to the habit. We established Operation RSF's 3 pillars as accountability, motivation/encouragement, and community and put together the 4-week challenge to help people get off the couch and moving towards the habit. We began partnering with gyms around the country, and one in Australia, to reach out to the local communities and be the light within their communities.

The second big goal of Operation RSF is to combat the stigmas around mental health through a grassroots approach. Making it easier for dudes to open the door to getting help. Instead of messages and campaigns from organizations like the VA or the government coming from the top down we decided to use our partnering gyms and ambassadors to use relationships to share the knowledge and change the perceptions of their communities which would lead to their cities, then to the state, and so on.

The way ahead for RSF is that we have a certification course in the works for partnering gyms and coaches, monthly challenges, and looking to have partnering gyms and coaches in every state so that if someone has the motivation to start they don't have to drive hours to find the support they need.

We recently built an amazing research and development department with the brilliant minds of Dr. Kate Pate and Liz Brookhouse (a mental performance coach for the Army). We are able to organize and develop more effective ways of getting the knowledge out there about the benefits of physical activity and the understanding of mental health being a physiological change in the brain which is really the first step in combating the stigma.

Programs: Operation RSF offers a monthly challenge to introduce different activities to help people find what they like, we post the latest news articles and research papers on physical activity and mental health on our forum for anyone to read and get knowledgeable about, we have a 4-week challenge and a 10-week challenge, and we have a few other plans in the mix as we look to fill that gap of the couch to the habit.
