Montalvo shares their experiences as a campus organizer at their alma mater and how it inspired them to write a column for the university newspaper, The Stute, highlighting the true experiences of Black undergraduate students. We delve into their current work as a staff writer for the Kansas City Defender, where they focus on writing a series on Black, Queer Kansas City histories, and their role as the Marketing Manager for Startland Education, an organization dedicated to radically changing the education system through human-centered design.
