I once heard a quote that said, “If you feel that God is far away from you, guess who moved?” It’s a simple concept: God hasn’t moved, you have. The truth is, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If you’re feeling far from Him, it’s likely because of your own choices. You may be asking, “What can I do to get back to God?” And the answer is simple: just open your heart. Talk to Him. Tell Him you miss Him, that you love Him. And make the decision to walk with Him – to trust and obey Him.
The very first step is, admit you’ve wronged God your Creator. Confess and renounce your offenses toward God. That’s what’s called repentance. You don’t have to have your life in order, or get things all neat and tidy to allow God in your life. You simply have to open up your heart and invite Him in.
The Bible says in 1 Peter 3:18 that “Christ suffered once for all, the righteous in place of the unrighteous, to bring you to God”. So open your heart and walk towards Him. He’ll never leave you or forsake you, but it’s up to you to let Him come in. And if you have walked away from God, then there is no better time than right now to run back to Him through Jesus Christ, His one and only Son. This is Luis Palau.
