LyricsMakes no difference where I’m going doesn’t really matter where I’ve beenWhen I feel her eyes upon me I know, I’m exactly where I need to beHome is where you make it, Sweet home should come easilyCould be on some distant beach I’m a lyingCould be ‘neath shade of my baby’s tree

I spent six years in New York City, like living in a penitentiaryStole a motorbike rode it to the ocean, My broken heart came back to meHome lord you’ve got to go out and take it, Sweet home should come easilyCould be on some highway that I’m ridingCould be left behind in those city streetsI see you in my rearview mirrorMile marker after mile marker going byI'm never going back, never going back

I came to reside in California, Spend my days rolling at the beachAll the pretty girls there they let their hair down, they’ve got nothing on my sweet beautyHome feels just like my woman, Does it fell good?! Lord you’d better believeShe comes & joins me anywhere Im lying, She gives me shade beneath her tree

About the SongOriginally released on my first album, ‘To Love a Wild Fire‘. This song is a love letter to family, and the feeling of belonging that accompanies a strong sense of community. I’ve leaned that I’m always only as good as those around me, my own auccess is a shared experience by those closest to me. Knowing who you are, where you belong in your tribe defines, and adds testament to the concept of home. Coming from a big family, I recognize home when it reminds me of a loved one.

For years, I always felt like an outsider, uncomfortable in my skin.

Surfing, making art, music, work in tech & family, helped me experience the world and find my place in it. Home was never just a place, that's why I never found it. It was on the inside, it was the work of surrounding yourself with the ones you love the most so you can have a good life. Home is the freedom to be yourself.

About the Live Video:As with previous shows, I’m going to release a song a week until the complete show is uploaded and archived on Substack. This concert is being released in support of the new single “Perpetual Change” (released on November 8, 2024). We started video taping and recording our live shows consistently in 2023, when I took over the live sound. Prior to that the recording sound quality was a bit spotty.
