The letter was written to convince readers that Jesus Christ is the Jehovah of the Old Testament and His Gospel is superior to the Law of Moses. Christ descended below all things so that He could save us from death and succor us in our temptations. He can reach down to our level and perfectly relate to our weaknesses and challenges, and through the things he suffered he became perfect and the author of our salvation.
