Here’s a preview of my newest meditation on Insight Timer that will come out in a few days.
It’s so easy to get swept into the noise—ads, notifications, endless distractions calling for our attention. We chase after one thing and then another, yet nothing seems to satisfy the deeper hunger.
Listening Beyond the Noise
Sacred meditation is not about adding another thing to our list. It is the quiet act of settling the mind long enough to hear the voice of God within—the voice that calls us back to what is enduring and real.
An Invitation from Isaiah
The prophet speaks directly to our restless hearts: “All you who are thirsty, come to the water.” These words remind us that what nourishes cannot be purchased or earned. It is freely given—bread for the hungry, wine for the weary, milk for the soul.
Receiving the Gift
Contemplative prayer invites us not to strive but to receive. The divine gift flows like water: always here, always enough, waiting for us to turn our attention.
A Practice to Carry Forward
As you listen, notice the word, phrase, or image that lingers in your heart. Let it become a quiet mantra, a prayer that continues long after the meditation ends.
