Jesus told a parable of a king who prepared a wedding feast for his son in order to illustrate the surprising way in which the kingdom of God had arrived. Though its arrival would be resisted by the original invitees, many others would now graciously be welcomed into it. And those who have come into the kingdom by grace are God’s chosen agents, called to testify to the transforming power of his kingdom of love.
