As always, here are your show notes for this episode of the Comic Talk Headlines.
TV- Lobo: Confirming (kinda) what we talked about last ep, showrunner Cam Welsh says on Twitter that Lobo is “far from dead.” https://twitter.com/CamWelsh_
- Watchmen: Showrunner Damon Lindelof clarified some things about the new series. Most notably that the original COMIC will be canon, and this series takes place AFTER the events therein. Which is interesting because that is contrary to what we have been told previously, AND since the show is still being billed as a “quasi-sequel.” https://www.tvinsider.com/805348/watchmen-hbo-season-1-damon-lindelof/
- Mandalorian: Director Rick Famuyiwa will be coming back once season 2 begins production October 7th… before season 1 even premieres?!? https://t.co/LTRQ1y3MC5?amp=1
- Cowboy Bebop: CASTING: Elaina Satine from the gifted has been cast as Julia for the live action remake. Cue the outrage…

- Legends of Tomorrow: Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford (The Atom and Nora Darhk) are being written off the show. Producers say they might come back in future seasons...https://comicbook.com/dc/2019/08/23/legends-of-tomorrow-courtney-ford-exit-break-silence/
Movies- Spider-Man: First things first, Sony has officially ended their sharing relationship they had with Disney/Marvel. What once got Marvel 5% first day box office and all the merchandise from Spider-Man, has now become a thing of the past. And Sony CAN’T even reference the MCU stuff… how they plan on dealing with that is beyond me. NOW, director Jon Watts, may not be returning to the franchise. Some industry analysts are blaming Dark Phoenix? BREAKING: New Rumor (being fueled by Tom Holland’s IG) claims Disney has returned with a new offer, that Sony may have accepted! https://deadline.com/2019/08/kevin-feige-spider-man-franchise-exit-disney-sony-dispute-avengers-endgame-captain-america-winter-soldier-tom-rothman-bob-iger-1202672545/ / https://variety.com/2019/film/news/spider-man-sony-marvel-divorce-1203311351/ / https://boundingintocomics.com/2019/08/23/rumor-marvel-and-disney-offer-new-deal-to-sony-to-keep-spider-man-in-mcu/
- Matrix: The franchise is NOT getting rebooted… it is getting continued. Lana Wachowski (for those confused she was formerly Larry) has signed on to make another movie in the series. Lilly (formerly Andy) will not be part of the project it seems, though Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will also be returning. So far that is all that has been confirmed, though it sounds like they want to go into production in early 2020. https://variety.com/2019/film/news/matrix-4-keanu-reeves-carrie-anne-moss-lana-wachowski-1203307955/
- Halloween Kills/Ends: John Carpenter is returning to score the 2 movies… though strangely not to produce. At least not yet. https://comicbook.com/horror/2019/08/20/halloween-kills-ends-john-carpenter-music-score-michael-myers/
- Bond 25: Officially titled “No Time To Die” https://youtu.be/ChJ_afRiUzo
- Alien XMas: Jon Favreau, fresh off the Mandalorian, is now apparently working with the Chiodo Brothers to adapt their 2015 children’s book about a war between Santa and an invading alien horde. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/jon-favreau-unveils-star-wars-series-mandalorian-marvel-plans-a-new-venture-1233239
