Comics Take on the News is a monthly radio show airing live the 4th Monday of every month from KBOO Community Radio. The show features a rotating group of local and traveling comics.
This episode aired in July 28, 2025 and features:
Katie Nguyen (@KatieNguyen): Katie Nguyen is a writer and comedian. Her work has been featured in The New Yorker, you can hear her on SiriusXM, and she's a regular at Helium Comedy Club. Katie teaches stand-up at Helium, she was a writer & the host of PBS Kids Mega Wow, and she co-wrote & starred in the short film Crouching Comic.
Kyle Kinane (@KyleKinane): Kyle Kinane is a comedian from Addison, Illinois. According to Wikipedia, he is a notable person from that town. Other notable residents of Addison have been the boxer Leon Spinks and a woman who wrote poetry about Beanie Babies. Raised in such a cultural fondue pot as this, it was natural for Kyle to find his way from warehouse work into show business. As a comedian, he has been seen on The Tonight Show, Netflix’s “The Standups,” and 5 of his own hour-length specials . As an actor, he’s been in the Judd Apatow series “Love” and truTV’s “Those Who Can’t.” He was also on “Drunk History,” where he unfortunately wasn’t acting. As a voice over actor, he was the former voice of Comedy Central for 8 years and currently plays Bullet on the Netflix series “Paradise PD.” He is also co-host of the No Accounting for Taste podcast along with Shane Torres. As a musician, he has done nothing, as he is not a musician. Kyle’s most recent standup work, “Dirt Nap,” was recorded at Acme Comedy Club in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was released in April of 2024. It is now available to watch on the 800 Pound Gorilla Media YouTube Channel.
Moisés Araguaney (@dale.coraz0n): Moisés Araguaney is a Venezuelan comedian based in Portland, OR. On stage he is aggressively enthusiastic, enamoured with queerness and collective liberation. He has performed at the LGBTLOL Queer Comedy Festival and co-hosted a queer comedy show at San Francisco PRIDE for over 250 cute, hot, gay attendees. You can find him hosting the Hear You Loud and Queer open mic, and co-producing the monthly show Be Gay Do Crime.
