I sat with what the story left behind.
This reflection goes beyond the envelope into what we inherit from the people we love, the ways we learn to give, and what happens when we finally begin asking: what did I save for myself?
Inhale. Pause. Exhale. And come up for air.
Heela’s Voice
Is a deeply personal reflection on my mother what she gave, what she carried, and what I only understood years later.
What happens when you give everything without saving enough for yourself?
Sometimes, the lesson waits for us in a drawer.
Inhale. Pause. Exhale. And come up for air.

What stayed with me after the fear wasn't only what happened to my body. It was the people.
Far from home, in a place unfamiliar to me, kindness kept finding its way into the experience in small gestures, unexpected care, and people who didn't have to make a frightening moment feel less lonely, but chose to.
Yesterday was scary. And people were kind to me while I was scared.
Both things are true.
I recorded this while I was still inside the experience before I had answers , before I understood what my body was trying to tell me.
What began as an adventure in Colorado changed quickly, and suddenly the smallest things one breath, one sip, one steady step felt enormous.
This isn’t a story told neatly from the other side. My voice sounds different because I was different in that moment. I was still process, still Trying to understand.
Sometimes the body speaks before the mind has found the words.
This is me listening.

What if what you’ve been calling stillness is actually stagnation?
A reflection on that uncomfortable realization the moment boredom stops feeling like something to escape and starts revealing what has stopped moving.
A reflection on comfort, stagnation, growth, and learning to recognize the difference between resting in your life and standing still in it.
Recorded where the reflection finds me.
Heela’s Voice 🎙️
A reflection on belonging, love, family, and the quiet spaces we carry with us into adulthood. On what it means to be surrounded by people and still search for the feeling of home and what happens when we begin learning to give ourselves what we once waited to receive.
Recorded where the reflection finds me.

I STILL BELIEVE IN COLORS
There is a child in me who still looks at the sky and sees the world in colors.
Life has given her reasons to harden, to stop believing, to keep her heart hidden. Yet somehow, after being disappointed and beaten down, her imagination refuses to be conditioned by what the world has shown her.
Maybe believing in colors isn't naïveté.
Maybe it is defiance.
The world has shown me darkness, and I still look up for beauty.
Recorded where the reflection finds me.

SILENT CRIES
Some experiences teach us silence before we ever learn how to name what happened.
Silent Cries is a spoken word piece about childhood sexual abuse, betrayal, shame, survival, the loss of safety and voice, and what it can mean to begin reclaiming yourself from experiences that once made silence feel necessary.
This isn't a piece I recreated from where I stand today.
I recorded Silent Cries last year, when these words first needed somewhere to go, and for this episode I chose to keep that original recording the voice, emotion, pauses, and imperfections of the moment in which it was spoken.
A note about the recording:
This reflection found me in bed, just after waking up. No microphone. No AirPods. No studio setup. Just my phone, my raw voice, and the words as they came.
You may hear my breathing, a little movement, or traces of the room around me. I chose not to polish all of that away. There is something about hearing the piece as it originally existed that matters to me.
Sometimes the voice that tells the story later isn't quite the same voice that first found the courage to speak it.
This is that voice.
Recorded where the reflection finds me.
Reflect. Heal. Become.

Living in Silence
More emotional layers.
More of the internal struggle
the parts of me that learned to shrink, stay quiet, and disappear inside myself.
A raw reflection on letting go, finding my way back to myself, and confronting what it means to take up space again with vulnerability, honesty, and no need to make the journey look pretty.
