comme ma poche – like my pocket. In everyday French, comme ma poche means that you know something really well, ‘like the back of my hand’. Two other ways of saying the same thing are ‘comme le fond de ma poche’ like the bottom of my pocket and ‘sur le bout des doigts’ – on the tip of my fingers.
* « Je ne connais pas vraiment Villedieu-les-Poêles comme ma poche. Je sais juste que c’est une commune de Normandie. »
* “I wouldn’t say I know Villedieu-les-Poêles like the back of my hand. I only know that it’s a little town in Normandy.”
