We expect life to be manageable, tidy, and easy. And we view spiritual life in the same way - where God is controlled and spiritual results are expected. The right answer to a prayer. The right church that meets all of our wants and needs. Yet, life and spirituality does not work that way. In a certain respect, they're a beautiful mess.
Ordinarily we avoid messes. They're ugly, they smell and turn us away.
But think of mess as the real complexities that come our way, the issues and challenges that come at us from varied directions, and where new life or new growth can come forth out of decay and loss.
Perhaps you're in the midst of a mess right now, or you look back on one with deep shame and regret. You begin to believe that you can fix them. With enough effort and enough hours, you think you can clean these up.
To Thrive! means to give yourself fully to God because He can take our messes and re-create, re-shape, and re-form something unexpected: beauty.
You are God's masterpiece - a work of art, created to thrive and flourish. Begin your summer by joining us in June for a three part series on how to Thrive!
