Committing to Music Making: How Long Does That Take?

Listen Later

When is it okay to quit piano? That's a real life question that came up in a recent teachers' meeting that CMajor attended.  The thought of quitting something that I personally love to do was startling to me.  But, what if in the grand scheme of things that piano lessons are just that, something that you graduate from and then stop?  This next CMajor Radio Show episode is for parents who are academic focused.  You see music making as something that your child will do only for a certain amount of time.  Maybe you want to continue your family's tradition of grooming only doctors and lawyers and you are using music to this end.  I've heard several thoughts about this.  As piano teachers, we want to see your musicianship grow over the long term.  So even at the end of your "yellow brick road", you will keep going because you've finally reached a point of wanting to communicate what you're playing.  Be encouraged.  I'll see you next time on The CMajor Radio Show.  Note:  For the second week in a row, the CMajor Show will air on Wednesday instead of Tuesday.  See you then!
