The binding constraint has moved from barrels to voyage economics — and that is what reprices Nigerian crude, Dangote's feedstock slate and West African waste-feedstock exports.

Crude retreated on Monday as traders priced a possible Hormuz reopening and more Russian fuel exports, even as Kpler put Gulf loadings near 8.5 million b/d, Qatar's liquefaction 'cold boxes' lay wrecked, and the IEA kept warning of dearer delivered diesel for Africa. For Nigeria and West African feedstock operators, the operative question is not the screen price but the freight, insurance and netback underneath it.

Araghchi's Baghdad reaffirmation is a lead to work, not an agreement: Washington has already sent comments Tehran says it is still reviewing, and the same terms were earlier rejected by President Trump. Brent's $109.86 is Friday's settlement, not a Sunday quote, and no oil futures traded in the normal Sunday session. VLCC quotations from the Gulf of Oman to China slipped to roughly Worldscale 776 from a record 841 — the first physical relaxation of the Hormuz freight spike — as route demand thinned and the Trump administration floated relief for shadow-fleet tankers. The relief is real but shallow, and for West African barrels the binding constraint is the FOB differential now being crushed by transport cost, not the headline freight index itself.

The IEA is accelerating more than 20 million barrels of diesel out of emergency stocks that were largely already committed, while Fujairah loading manifolds, Ras Laffan's cold boxes and pumping stations on Saudi Arabia's East-West Pipeline remain impaired. Prompt physical relief and durable supply are now moving in opposite directions.

The gap between what is announced and what is physically loaded is now the single most important spread in the energy complex — and for import-dependent West Africa, it is the mechanism that decides whether landed fuel costs fall at all.
