In the recent decades lots of people worldwide have been developing, sharing, learning and experiencing many tools, practices and methods to foster personal development and unfold the human positive potential in all the basic dimensions of its existence: the physical, spiritual, emotional and mental. Technology is a part of our lives either we like it or not. But  can we integrate it into our life? A similar question is how we integrating nature back into society? We are transition in perception through seeing through a lens of reason where it was either/or into both/and paralogical thinking.

A lot of ancient civilizations had both male and female cycles. You can see this in the Tzolkin. They understood the workings of the spiral really well. This is reflected in their astrology and cosmology. These spirals follow certain patterns that you can see within nature. How do we live in communities? And what does it take to be a part of a community? Are ceremonies important for becoming an adult that takes full responsibilities for its actions? Not just judging based on good and bad. But take on complexities and simpleness at the same time. Relationship is key in relating to others.

Andrew started his career out in acting, but later found a higher calling through doing work with Ayahuasca. We are going to talk about his journey in becoming a servant to the plant medicine He works now at Dreamglade. In Iquitos they have an ayahuasca retreat center.

How important is it to follow the diet before doing the ceremony. Being open minded seems to be more important. Purging is a something associated with the ceremony. This is sometimes done by smoking tobacco. Is it important to belief that you are going to become healed? Or is only an open mind necessary? Being skeptical is not a problem as long as try to release most of your expectations and it is balanced with open mindedness.

Another aspect from ayahuasca is the symbology of the snake and how it could also be connected to the past. In the Inca tradition the Condor was connected to the hanan pacha that is the upper world. Our middle world is the kay pacha it is connected to the Puma. And the underworld is connected to the snake, it’s called ukhu pacha. 

In the second part we are going to look at the Depacho project that he did with Hernan who was the owner of the Hostel I stayed at. He is a Pampa Mesayoq. That means he is a wisdom keeper and speaks with the mountain spirits.

This seventh episode we are going to talk with Sebastian. He is currently in Close to Lisbon, Portugal. He used to work as a project manager for ECP software. Sorry about the quality of my mic. I found out I didn’t plug it in. So it uses my laptop mic instead.

The work he did was very tiring for him so he was told by his doctor about meditation. He shares his journey and what made him switch to spirituality and wanting to live more harmonious with nature. I share an example of one of my inspirations called Michael Grubb. He is very unconventional in his approach to spirituality. It is difficult to see an integration between love and fear. So we first need to go deeper into what fear and love is. I make a distinction between “Vrees” and fear.

A concrete solution might be to go off-the-grid, but this not be a solution for everyone. We have to look at how we can get this towards society. Sebastian brings up a point for a grant solution of raising our frequency. If we drop our fear and we share with each other openly, the universe will change itself. Cryptocurrency is a way into the future for us, because it will distribute money more equally. I point towards the integration of our darker sides into our lives and learning the lessons that they teach. In what way can we help others? Let me know what you can do and/or are doing in these times that we are in with the pandemic.

In the second part we are going to talk about guidance. I touch upon the role of creativity and having a craft to make this our therapy. He shares some of the eastern teachings on the wheel of life. How we should be aware but not get trapped by the illusion. Knowing that the world is not separated from your mind, you can make this discernment. But the next step to teach others to make this discernment. And we can connect with others in a mindful way. Could we have common desires? What do you think? Setting an example for others is a way forward. But its not a matter of copy and paste. You should do it in your own way. In our age technology and psychedelics are a huge influence on our minds. Do people take the time to reflect what this all mean? Or are we just working and working but not really looking and reflecting what is going on here. What is our relationship to authority on our society on all this. In the new age movement they focus still on ourselves reaching enlightenment. But not really on how to share our insights into the different communities.

Psychedelics those are a form of authority but then a natural one. They teach us our immortality in our soul. This takes away the fear of death. That a lot of people have especially in these times. Through this loss of fear we become free. I stress the importance of the integration taking a substance that is not from our own tradition. It will become decontextualized and people have a great time taking the substance but don’t know how to integrate these lessons in there daily life. I teach that we have spiritual traditions within the west as well. These are lesser know but can be very powerful if we practice them. Ancestors are a part of us, so if we don’t reconnect with them we still miss a part of ourselves. Odenwald is a forest that the Germanic people regarded as sacred. The new age movement don’t put any importance on looking within your roots and working with your ancestors. But instead they make a uniformist teaching from the east that can be misunderstood if we don’t have the guidance from our ancestors. Sebastian says we have to become our own guides and guru. Instead of giving guidance to others. Both becoming our own guru and accepting guidance is equally valuable. Sebastian concludes our conversation by stressing the importance of good friends. This sixth episode we are going to talk with Daniël Bos. He is currently in The Netherlands, Groningen. He studies Theology on the University of Groningen. We will talk about conspiracy theories and modern tribalism. We start by discussing what conspiracy theories are and what sides society has. It can provide a structure but it can also be tyrannical. According to Daniël we all have our own agendas and thereby conflicting with each other’s desires. He points out that humans just have a capacity for evil and can thereby create chaos. I mention specific case of conspiracy like the Gulf of Tonkin. The reason why we chose this subject is because I becomes more and more popular with unforeseen effects this has on our society. Some of the conspiracies are based upon beliefs. I mention the flat earth theory as an example of this. An important point is that there should be a relevancy on what we are discussing. How does change our every day life. Daniël mentions an important point that we haven’t learnt to talk to each other. There is a need for sharing common values. This is a reason why Daniël got involved in becoming a Theologian.

We don’t have a lot of time on our hands so we give away our power to institutions or other people to think for us on these matters like our own psychology. We look for people who are like minded and share our beliefs, but why don’t question our own beliefs? A crucial step is getting out of your comfort zone and find people that share a different view, but still have an engaging conversation with. We should first know eachother before talking on bigger matters. And so Daniël shows us how he got involved in becoming a Christian. This has some benefits of having like minded people that can provide support, but finding the balance in guidance and self-exploration is crucial. We should listen to authority, but to the right ones. Our quest is to find the right one for us.

In the second part we going into Gnosticism. There were different streams of Gnosticism like the Cathars, Bogomils and gnostic sects in Egypt. I am during this Podcast episode in the south of France where the Cathars were situated. I visited the town of Minerve. The gnostics shared a lot of similar views that conspiracy researchers share. Christianity started very diverse and included a lot of different gnostic views. We are going to look at what those views are. Such as dualism, gnosis, archons and the demiurge. It draws a lot of it views from other older roots like Manicism coming the Zoroastrians in ancient Persia. The start of the Gnostic beginnings is in the 3rd century. This is also the same time period where the Nag Hammadi scriptures originate from. In this time period Christianity was still taking shape.
