With 6.1 trillion texts sent over the past year, our teens know how to communicate! But still… our teens are desperate for something more.
Our teens are desperate for connection. The need for relationships, for community, for a place of belonging drives our teens. But since they haven’t learned to make connections … other than the Internet or text messages … they go to extremes to bond with others.
Your teen needs to be taught what it means to connect. Don’t take the extreme approach by banning cell phones and Facebook. Instead… take a night to shut off all screens and connect with your family.
Show your teenager that relationships aren’t formed by typing on a phone. Help them fulfill their desperate longing for connection. Look ‘em in the eye … and connect.
