What are the possibilities of communication? What are the limits? How does understanding both bring us peace about what is outside of our control?

Jennifer Arvin Furlong is a highly rated communication/media specialist with 30 years of experience in the communication industry and 18 years of experience teaching in higher education. She is the author of Mini-Handbook for Jackasses: Communication & Relationships and co-author of the #1 Amazon international best seller, Cracking the Rich Code. She is a TEDx speaker and coach and host of the Communication TwentyFourSeven Podcast. She is a Marine Corps veteran, a first-generation college graduate (B.A. and M.A. in Communication), a mom, and a breast cancer survivor.
In this conversation, Jennifer shares stories of some pivotal moments in her life, including joining the Marine Corps, working as a journalist, and starting her own company. Abbie and Jennifer discuss their shared love of communication and the importance of developing the communication skills and perspective to engage in tricky (but meaningful) conversations. Jennifer and Abbie explore “communicating about how we communicate,” letting go of old stories, and writing new ones. Finally, Jennifer defines communication in her own words.
