Sari de la Motte is the founder of Forte, a communication consulting firm focusing on non-verbal communication.
Sari hails from Portland, Oregon, and because of her large volume of work with attorneys, is often referred to as the Attorney Whisperer.
Sari explains that there’s more to body language than how it is commonly presented.
According to Sari, there are two basic non-verbal sets, namely:
* Authoritative body language
* Approachable body language
She says that the general rule of thumb is to apply both of the non-verbal sets and that the challenge to clear communication is timing.
So, when you are trying to send information, use the Authoritative body language and use the Approachable Body Language when seeking information. Sari expands on this in the interview.
