The journey of the cross which began with Jesus' first Passover (Jn 2) culminates in this last Passover meal with His disciples. The meal begins a memorable series of experiences of betrayal, beating, mockery, and death... to which Jesus states, "I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom." Jesus, with extreme passion, looks forward to future time when Passover will have a new and eternal look.
