We could never earn or deserve a relationship with a perfect God. But God gives us grace through the sacrificial death of Jesus. We need the assurance of God's grace and a reminder of its cost, so we don't take it for granted or think we can earn it. Jesus initiated the Lord's Supper, and we participate in it every week to remind us of God's grace and to renew our gratitude for it.
