Here’s the skinny:

  • ITC Deer Park is up for a permit renewal.
  • ITC fires in 2019 caused a huge black plume over Harris County. This disaster is still under investigation by the U.S. Chemical Safety Board.
  • This facility is up for a renewal of their Federal Operating Permit (FOP) which would allow them to continue to operate for 5 years. ITC may receive their permit without public opposition.
