(Community Matters 148) SAFE Place Opens Marshall Location to Better-Reach Those Who Need Them

Listen Later

Calhoun County still remains in the top-five Michigan counties with significant rates of domestic violence - sometimes called intimate partner violence.

That's the word from Ellen Lassiter Collier, executive director of Battle Creek's SAFE Place, a 54-bed emergency shelter. The shelter exists for victims and survivors of domestic violence and sex trafficking.

Now, SAFE Place has opened a location in Marshall. Lassiter Collier returns to Community Matters to discuss how the second location will help the organization be more responsive to those who need them.
