We continue to examine comorbidities in diabetes; this week we discuss chronic kidney disease (CKD), affecting an estimated 50% of people with type 2 diabetes. Considering its high morbidity, mortality, and association with other adverse outcomes, this is clearly an important issue to consider. We are joined by Dr David Cherney for a discussion of management strategies in primary and secondary care, as well as data from the CREDENCE and DAPA-CKD trials on the use of SGLT2 inhibitors to help in risk reduction.
