As we are hopefully closing in on our third client, it caused us to reflect on the challenges with the first: the bulk of the resistance is a refusal to acknowledge that I've got vastly more experience than the existing people.

It's not for us to say whether there's an underlying bias.  It doesn't matter.  We do what I'm paid to do as long as we're paid to do it - but we do it in a way that is quality, every time.  Others just do the bare minimum.  That was always the disconnect.

That methodology - doing the bare minimum - is a symptom of what we believe is a loss of the desire to mentor people so they do the job correctly and with high quality.
