Comparison More than Two Items

In this lesson, I will introduce you how to describe the comparison more than two items in Japanese.


You need to use the word "いちばん", which means "the best" in English to compare more than two items.


クラス のなかで だれ が いちばん せがたかい です か。

Who is the tallest in the class?

さとうさん が いちばん せがたかい です。

Mr. Sato is the tallest.

*せがたかい means "tall"

*のなかで means "among" or "in"


マクドナルド のなかで なに が いちばん すき です か。

What do you like the best among McDonald's menu?

ビッグマック が いちばん すき です。

I like a Bigmac the best.


ビッグマック と チーズバーガー  てりやきバーガー のなかで なに が いちばん すき です か。

Among a Bigmac, a Cheeseburger, and a Teriyakiburger, what do you like the best?

ビッグマック が いちばん すき です。

I like a Bigmac the best.


にほん のなかで どこ が いちばん かんこう で にんき です か。

In Japan, where is the most popular for sightseeing?

きょうと が いちばん にんきだと おもいます。
