The message we hear every day from our culture is that we just need a little more. And if we just had a little more, then we would be happy and our problems would be solved. As a result, most Americans spend their lives in pursuit of more money and possessions, thinking that they will eventually have “enough.” This lack of contentment drives us to work more hours, borrow more money, buy more stuff and create more stress for our lives and families. But there’s danger in living in a culture so driven by consumerism.
