Many of us have been so focused on surviving a global pandemic over the last 16 months that we have pushed down our emotions in an attempt to keep on moving forward. We have learned how to survive using a process called compartmentalizing.
Compartmentalizing is a defense mechanism where we suppress our thoughts and emotions. We coat ourselves in invisible armor in an attempt to protect ourselves. But over time, this armor becomes heavy and everything we bury beneath builds up and overflows. My friend, there is a better way to live our lives.
When we stop compartmentalizing, we allow ourselves to feel our feelings and move through them. When we feel our feelings, even though they are uncomfortable, we cultivate an emotional system and become more emotionally available and connected with ourselves.
This week, I invite you to stop pushing your feelings down and instead, acknowledge them. Identify them, understand where they are in your body, and truly feel them so you can release them. I invite you to thrive in your life.
In this episode, I’m showing you how compartmentalizing has protected you up to this point, and how to give yourself time and patience to cultivate a feelings system. This powerful work is about being aware and intentionally creating the life you want, so discover how to give yourself the permission and space to feel all the feelings and thrive in your life.
