From everybody's story circulating through our Facebook feeds to our own hectic lives, it seems like there are so many things vying for our attention that it makes it hard to really care deeply about anything. Because we have instant access to stories of pain and misfortune sitting right next to guacamole recipes and cat videos, everything tends to get mixed together in our minds and we lose compassion for the hurt that's all around us.
