Matthew 9:35-38

Over the past three weeks we learned that the missionary need of God’s people is to learn how to pray. For self-denying, cross-carrying followers of Jesus, it’s upon this foundation we must stand lest we become the people of God doing the work of God apart from the presence and provision of God. If we are going to be compassionate laborers in the Father’s harvest, we must first be pray-ers [ that is people who pray ]. The question then becomes—‘How do we build on this foundation of prayer?” Answer—we march forward with a missionary mindset. A mindset that not only prays for compassionate laborers to be sent into the Father’s harvest, BUT also recognizes that we are, ourselves, the answer to our own prayer.
