In this episode we’re talking about something that lives in the shadows for so many of us: complex post-traumatic stress disorder or C-PTSD.
If you've ever felt like your pain runs deeper than one event, or like you've spent years trying to fix yourself but never quite feel whole this conversation is for you. C-PTSD isn’t always loud. It doesn’t always look like crisis. Often, it whispers:
“I’m not enough.”“I have to earn love.”“If I get close to anyone, I’ll get hurt.”
In this episode, I break down the three core features of complex trauma: emotional dysregulation, negative self-concept, and relational challenges. Hear how these show up in real lives, including my own. I explain the concept of repetition compulsion, our unconscious pull to repeat old wounds in toxic relationships, hoping we can finally change the outcome.
