In 2024, the U.S. DOJ updated Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to require all public sector websites, online systems and digital resources for governmental entities serving more than 50,000 people to be accessible to people with disabilities by April 24, 2026. This is the first time that the DOJ has ever adopted a technical standard for digital content.
