Decision G 1/19 of the Enlarged Board of Appeal has been published on 10 March 2021. The decision is not only of relevance for computer-implemented simulations, but rather for all kinds of mixed inventions. G 1/19 carves the COMVIK approach (T 641/00) in stone - and stops short of saying that the former lead case in the field of computer-implemented simulation, T 1227/05 (Infineon), came to the wrong conclusion.
