What we learned about God:

#1: It’s all about God

“The LORD has made all for Himself…”

Proverbs 16:4a NKJV

“God is the one who made all things, and all things are for His glory.”

Hebrews 2:10a NCV

“For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

Colossians 1:16-17

#2: It’s all so practical

“In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan

of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will…”

Ephesians 1:11

What we learned about Life:

First: Life is preparation for eternity

“He has also set eternity in the human heart…”

Ecclesiastes 3:11

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above,

where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above,

not on earthly things.” Colossians 3:1-2

“let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1b-2

6 Practical Purposes:

"The Lord has made everything for His purpose." Proverbs 16:4 NLT

Purpose: to know and enjoy God’s love

Purpose: to love Him back

Purpose: to love His family

Purpose: to become like Jesus

Purpose: to serve others

Purpose: to love those who are not yet enjoying God’s love

What we learn about spiritual growth:

1: We grow through Making Commitments

“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."

James 2:17

2: We grow through Fellowship

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

Proverbs 27:17

What we learned about our Community

1: People are hungry for Spiritual Truth

“…open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.”

John 4:35
