A father, desperate for help, approached the Lord Jesus, pleading, with tears, that He might cast out the dumb and deaf spirit that had troubled his son since childhood. The disciples had been unable to do this, although they had cast demons out before, having been given power and authority to do so by Christ. Why then could they not cast the dumb and deaf spirit out on this occasion. Jesus gives a most interesting, and challenging answer.
