Today we talk with several members of Cone Health's Palliative Care Team. The team is lead by Dr. Elizabeth Golding.

Elizabeth Golding, DO, medical director of Cone Health Palliative Care Services, has been invited to join a state-wide task force. The goal of the task force is to develop a comprehensive plan to help individuals with serious illnesses and their caregivers across North Carolina. 

The task force hopes to:

• Make palliative, hospice and other similar types of care easier for patients to understand.
• Encourage patients and provides to discuss care when someone has a serious medical condition.
• Make it easier for patients to make their wishes known when faced with a critical medical condition.

The task force is being formed by the North Carolina Institute of Medicine (NCIOM) and will kick off in early 2019.
