The teachability of the saints, the deep moments of worship, the massive recalibrations of our thinking and doctrine, the humility and re-establishment of godly order, the envisioning by the Holy Spirit for us to work together to disciple nations for the glory of our God…all of this was life changing!

A resounding call could be heard across the nations represented at our recent Four12 Conference in South Africa. Echoing that of Paul’s pleas for us to live lives worthy of the calling we have received in Jesus (Eph 4:1), the Lord exhorted us to be a people who boldly GO in the name of the Gospel.

Staying in one place might look like we are in neutral, but we are actually going backwards when we are stagnant in our relationship with God. Small things left unattended block the work of the Lord in our lives, which will bring breakthrough in areas we need. Gerrit Loots shares a powerful message to show us how to recognise when we are stuck in patterns that will keep us idle, and the promises of God that we can cling to to help us in testing times. We must respond continually to what God is saying and doing because we serve a living God. When we are no longer cut to the heart by the Word, we don’t spend time with the Lord freely, His kingdom is not central in our lives, and we repeat seasons or tests – we know that it is time to kick into a new gear. 

We know about God, but do we know Him experientially? In this enheartening message, Jeff Kidwell leads saints into a special time to taste and see that the Lord is good. It is not only our seeing of Christ, but our experiential tasting of Him that is so crucial to our faith, and the fruit that we bear. He reminds us that we need the Holy Spirit to give us a desire to thirst and hunger for Jesus who is the Living Water. If we do not desire Jesus’ presence, we will not seek Him or thirst for the things of God. In His presence, we will find joy. This promise is dependent on our need, and on our personal response and participation. He desires everyone to come to Him for themselves, we cannot experience the presence of God for others. Come near to God and taste of Him. 

God has a plan and a purpose with each of our lives, and it starts with us saying ‘yes’ to Him. In this stirring message, Ryan Kingsley reminds believers that we weren’t just saved out of slavery and left to wander the wilderness - we were saved to enter a promised land. We must look to the world around us and give our lives to bring others into this inheritance with us.  

The Lord has determined good works for us long ago - will we listen to this call or are we hoping to live out our own dreams and ideals? This message is a call to action: We must wake up and act or we will miss our inheritance like the Israelites wandering the desert, not acting on God’s commands. With Jesus as our Commander and the Holy Spirit as our Helper, we will be able to do all that the Lord is calling us to.

We live in a time of big cultural shifts affecting many churches – leaders are under attack, doctrines are becoming increasingly unbiblical, and a humanistic worldview is fast rising. Are we ready for the Lord’s return? This year’s Conference in Pretoria stirred and equipped saints to not only be aware of the enemy’s plans but to wake up again to the Lord’s greater purpose for us, standing firm in His power and victories. We were built up to face the giants in our lives, all in preparation to meet our Bridegroom. He is coming back for a pure and spotless bride – will we be found with oil in our lamps on this glorious day?

The Bible tells us of many signs that will show us that the Lord’s arrival is close – many of which are happening around us right now. Here Pete Witt asks us: Are you ready for Jesus to return? Jesus’ bride, the church, longs for that glorious day when He comes back for her, but she must make sure she is ready for her Bridegroom, so that He will find her pure and spotless. It is important for us to be aware of the lies that our enemy uses to steal, kill, and destroy – these lies to believers are often subtle tactics to make us idle and ineffective. We must stay awake and alert in this urgent hour, ensuring that we have enough oil and warning others to be prepared before it is too late. Jesus is coming soon!
