Pastor Jeremy shares Sunday in Glendive.

Rom. 10:10 that if you confess with your mouth the

Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised

Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the

heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the

mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Mark 11:23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to

this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’

and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those

things he says will be done, he will have whatever he

says.

We learned how to believe w/ our heart, now we need

to learn to confess w/ our mouth.

Confession can be a bit confusing:

1. The Jew’s confession of sin

○ Mark 1:4-5 John came baptizing in the

wilderness and preaching a baptism of

repentance for the remission of sins. 5 Then

all the land of Judea, and those from

Jerusalem, went out to him and were all

baptized by him in the Jordan River,

confessing their sins.

2. The confession of the sinner under the new

covenant

○ Rom 10:9 that if you confess with your

mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your

heart that God has raised Him from the

dead, you will be saved.

3. The believer’s confession of their sins

○ 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is

faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to

cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

4. The believer’s confession of their faith/hope

○ Heb 10:23 kjv Let us hold fast the profession

of our faith/hope without wavering; (for he is

faithful that promised)

We are going to focus on the confession of our faith.

Confession - your confession is a proclamation of what

you know to be true. Your confession states what you

believe. Your confession declares something you know.

And your confession proclaims a truth you have

accepted wholeheartedly.

What are we to confess?

1. What God has done for us through Christ in His

plan of salvation.

2. What God has done in us by the Word and the

Spirit through the new birth and infilling of the

Holy Spirit.

3. Who we are to God the Father in Christ Jesus

4. What Jesus is presently doing for us at the right

hand of the Father where He ever lives to make

intercession for us.

5. What God can accomplish through us, or what His

Word will accomplish through us as we proclaim it.

James 3:4 Look also at ships: although they are so large

and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very

small rudder wherever the pilot desires. 5 Even so the

tongue is a little member and boasts great things.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the

tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

In Him Study

● Read the letters to the churches and underline any

scripture that mentions “In Him”, “In Christ”, or “In

Whom”

● Then read through these verses declaring this is

who you are and what you have as a member of

the body.

Examples:

1. 2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a

new creation; old things have passed away;

behold, all things have become new.

a. This is who I am, I am In Christ.

b. I am a new creation

c. I am not the same as I used to be

d. Old things have passed away...addiction,

porn, cussing, you get the picture. These

things no longer rule my life.

e. All things have become new

2. Eph 2

a. I’ve been made alive

b. I’ve been made alive together w/ Christ

c. I’ve been raised up together w/ Christ

d. I’ve been seated together w/ Christ

e. He’s gonna show me the exceeding riches of

His grace and kindness.

f. I’ve been created for good works, and will

walk in them.

g. I’ve been brought near

h. I’ve been given access to the Father

i. I’m a citizen and a member of the household

of God.

j. I’m a dwelling place for God.
