We tend to want to focus on the upbeat and the positive. But did you know that about 1/3 of the Psalms, the hymnbook of ancient Israel, contains sad songs called Songs of Lament?

What might it look like for us to be willing to enter into the difficult things in our prayer lives? Why do we need to confess our sin to God if He already knows we're sorry? How does lament work and why should we do it?
