Confession: Sometimes my misguided expectations caused me to miss opportunities to help my kids.

Expectation: If we give our kids what we lacked growing up, they’ll have a great life.

Parenting: Present Provide Protect Point Prepare

Sometimes our misguided expectations as parents lead to missed opportunities.

Jesus himself was baptized. As he was praying, the heavens opened, and the Holy Spirit, in bodily form, descended on him like a dove. And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.” Luke 3:21 & 22

Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan River, being urged by the Spirit out into the barren wastelands of Judea, where Satan tempted him for forty days. He ate nothing all that time and was very hungry. Luke 4:1 & 2

God the Father sent Jesus to experience a challenge to prepare Him for harder challenges that were coming.
